Story

WW2 Documents is a subset of the British Solomon Islands Protectorate (BSIP) collection and they are the Administrative records created during the time of the war and records of the aftermath of the war. These documents are of immense significance to the Solomon Islands, the Pacific region, the Japanese, the Unites States and British colonial history and the world generally. The WW2 documents illustrates a time of great change in these islands and the international movements and war fares held in the Islands for the very first time.



Because of the document’s uniqueness, its significance and its need for proper preservation, the BSIP collection is suitable to be included in the MOWCAP Regional Register
